why the hell are they running Iowa Senate political ads on Animal Planet? Is dish gonna run political ads or is animal planet running ads for Iowa? Either way this is SOOO NOT COOL!!
 
Dish inserts local ads in slots allocated for that by the provider. Cable co's have always run local ads, but it is relatively new for Dish to do so.
 
I am constantly seeing ads for Ohio Governor John Kasich's reelection. I can't go back and try to see who is sponsoring them, since they disappear immediately after they play (a Dish ad appears in its place). Either Kasich has a ton of money, or Dish is giving him one sweet deal on airtime.
 
Again, local ads is nothing new for DISH per se, it's just being used more now, nor is political local ads new. Either way, you have the power to ignore them.
