Air Fiber is the wave of the future from what I'm seeing.. I'm heading up a project in the LA area where we are using point to point connections. It's fast and cheaper than traditional copper lines that Comcast , Time Warner , Cox etc... use.
 
Thanks for the additional information!

I am using the Ubiquiti 2.4GHz gear on a 1/2 mile PTP connection from the office to home (1m and 75cm reflectors). I also found that the 5GHz signal was severely attenuated by passing through a few pine trees. Hindsight, should have gone 900MHz.
 
The 24ghz air fiber works great for a few miles.
