Interesting.

The PQ is going to suck with 10 channels and only 3 transponders. Although HBO, Showtime, Discovery HD, HDNet movies and HDNet are already available to Alaska from 110 which then gives them 5 channels over 3 transponders which would give better PQ.

yes, it looks like espn2, universal HD, and nflhd are gonna be added to the alaska HD pack.

which is unfair Bullsh!t to the rest of us still on the original HD pack they had an idle tp on 110 for a long time that they could've added those channels on but never did. and the channels on 61.5/129 aren't even mpeg4

The Alaska HD's are being put up in MPEG4 as I recall reading. So those in Alaska who want those channels will have to upgrade to a ViP receiver.

They have to have mpeg 4 receivers now and are only charged $9.99

No, we don't have to have mpeg4 receivers now. My 811 works just fine for the current channels off of the old 110. To receive the new (additional) channels we will have to get a mpeg4 receiver.
