Well, I just tried to see if I could get distant nets in HD. Here is what I got at the AAD web site:

They have been inconsistent. They charged me 14.97 for 3 HD (sans ABC) from Chicago. I checked my bank statement this morning and it was confirmed. I will have to see if it continues.

I guess it might be crazy but if a guy wanted LA locals (but didn't have HD) could he pay the $25 month in order to get the SD or wuold it not shoot them down w/o a HD reciever?

Right. My understanding is that you get BOTH the SD and HD networks from Los Angeles and Chicago as long as you are an HD customer. If you are an SD customer only - you will get San Francisco and New York. I'd love to see them change San Francisco to Los Angeles. I miss the days of the Los Angeles locals but $25 month is a little steep to me.

Hey TNG

Did u call the 800 number and ask what the price was just for HD locals? The website shows a SD/HD bundle price

Its not a bundle, when it saids "w/SD" next to Chicago and LA it means thats the price u pay if you already pay the 12.99 for the SD. It's 34.99 for each HD city if u don't have the SD feeds.

What he said. They told me it was $25 for the HD locals added to the SD locals or $35 if I don't have SD locals.

If doesn't matter if Dish offers your locals. It's based on if your Distant Network provider carry's your cities locals, and AAD carry's no locals whatsoever. The address I use for Dish and AAD qualifies for all 4 networks from AAD and Atlanta locals through Dish. So I get San Francisco plus New York in SD, and I sub to LA in HD. Plus I get Charlotte OTA, so all in all I get 5 cities :D
