All DMA's now Western Arc

I have from day one (many years back) installed and maintained my own DN systems. Last time was the upgrade of lnb's and move to dish 1000 EA to get my locals and added a H3. I figured that would be my last move and didn't document anything )part numbers, aiming etc. I do remember being able to use my old receiver to aim the dish (no way to aim anymore). Old receiver is gone, I am old so the mind is gone, and I still hate the thought of throwing the dice and having a dish tech that wasn't an ex-con come to my house.
At the chance of wasting you guys time, is there a tutorial of some sort to help me get back to the WA? I still have my original dish500 dish in the barn, and currently running an h3 with a wired Joey. Lnb goes to a node (or something) under the house and then separate cables to the H3 and Joey. I have CRS syndrome (can't remember sh*t), and don't know where to start. I guess, after the manual work, I would have to call Dish for them to do some switching on their end.
I would appreciate any help, but I get it if no one has the time to hold an old man's hand.
A Dish tech that wasn't an ex-con??
Oh good grief

I thought this thing was fairly imminent. If not, then why all of the repoints being assigned? Just in cases where locals are moving over? They're still going to have all the major stuff in the east for years?
We're being told this is very imminent
I believe the 1000 designated for EA was the 1000.4. 1000.2 is for WA, the difference being the LNBF type (differing feed spacing).
A DiSH 500 would be perfect for WA conversion (yes, back to 1999). Might need to get the newest DPPH Twin LNBF to go on it.\
No. About 10 years ago, there was a 1000.4 for the Eastern Arc; then, after the 77 was decommissioned, an LNBF came in at 1000.2 for the Eastern Arc. There is no 1000.4 for anything and hasn't bneen for awhile.
Now the Dish 500 is for WA, and the 1000.2 is for the remaining EA accounts
It's not the same yolk as the DPP Twin used
There should be some means on the hoppers of bringing up a signal strength screen for aiming.
There is

My Dish contract runs out in February. I have Cox internet which was bought out by Spectrum. I may look into Spectrum to see what options they have to replace Dish. I have no idea if they have DVR's or not.
spectrums DVR is only a 4 tuner and it's crap. don't know about the streaming version. though if you had cox before charter might use there boxes. i belive cox has a 6 tuner box

So then a 1000.2 currently on EA can be very simply rotated on its post from facing SE to facing SW, be zeroed in for good signals on 110 and 119 and have a sat scan done, and be good to go(?) There's probably a skew setting change also before trying to aim(?)

No, the LNBS for the 1000.2 are no longer in stock. WA is only a D500 kit for most installers. I think a few retailers may still have WA LNBs for the 1000.2 but those will only be replaced with the new DPH WA TWIN LNBF

So then the EA 1000.2 is different from the WA 1000.2? Why then would both be called 1000.2?

I don't see how it could be imminent. There has been no communication to customers, no proactive outreach…. Unless they are doing small areas or DMAs at a time which might explain the influx of changeovers for you HipKat

Scott Greczkowski Any official info you've seen or heard related to this topic? Would be good to hear what the plan is/timeline from Dish.

Dish will replace the lnb on your EA dish with a WA lnb (the lnb's are slightly closer together for WA), then re-aim the dish to pick up 110 and 119. Your EA locals will not disappear until Dish has re-aimed everyone's dish.

For the western arc the LNB must be Dish DPP any 1000.2/ Dish antenna and Dish 1000+ antenna /Dish 500 plus antenna with DPP LNB will work for hoper receiver and VIP 211k receiver all of these antenna have switch bulit in. The antenna labeled Dish HD. I have 2 1000 plus antenna and 1000.2 all work great for 110/119 locations.

So then what's this "different" 1000.2 LNBF for EA? I had thought they called it 1000.4 for EA.
1000.2 for eastern arc is diffrent than for western arc, You need a western arc LNB INSTALLED on your easten 1000,2 Antenna.then tune to 110/119. Your EA LNBF AND WESTERN LNB look diffrent. 1000.4 end of life it is used for 61.5/72 and 77 The problem is lot of people cant hit western arc because of trees etc. You can get a two 300 dish 18 antenna and install a DPP LNB and hit 110 and 119 and use a switch you will get very good signal.

So there has to be some kind of a model # difference between an LNBF for a 1000.2 on EA and one for WA...How were they differentiated for purchase from distributor? What do you look for on eBay?

Just do a search on dish 1000.4 WA & EA LNBF's.
You can easily see the physical (feedhorn) diff between the 2 is VERY obvious.
Also, on both 1000.4 LNB's, there is a 3rd notch in the center, on the bottom of the LNBF, that mounts to the dish bracket. This is to make sure it's only used on a 1000.4 dish. (& to keep from using 1000.2 LNBF's on 1000.4 dishes)

I know there's a difference. I'm just trying to ascertain how they may be described/listed (or were) for purchase from echo. I can't believe it's simply "send me 4 of those 1000.2 LNBFs that are for the EA."

No, they won't. The Western Arc Dish 500 is replacing the 1000.2 Western Arc, so they won't just replace the LNB; they'll replace the entire antenna

Its crazy how the ViP922 is so rare for no reason.
