Agreed, he should stick to producing TV shows and get out of the channel owning business. He almost crippled his stations by trying to oust the weather teams from them. It was only when consumers fought back that he backed down. On top of selling his stations, he should put the Weather Channel up for sale. Maybe some company would buy it that would actually put weather on there.

KADN/KLAF has been sold more times than a house. It went from Com Corp, Nexstar, Bayou City, to AMG. Now I guess Tegna, Hearst, Gray, or Sinclair will buy it. I'd like to see Gray buy and then Full power the NBC 46 (KLAF) then ssa that one or KADN and have room for more subnets. Just wishful thinking

This is not a thing a station can do. There is no path for an LPTV station to "upgrade" into a full-power station. They would have to go through the normal FCC rule-making process, get an allotment added to the table, then wait for an FCC auction, and win the new license, unrelated to the current LPTV license, at auction. Additionally, the FCC lacks auction authority at the moment, so it could not hold such an auction.

Thanks. Thats sounds like too much of a mess

Most of Allen Media stations were due to "media conglomerates" owning a station in the market already so they probably will have to split up stations to other possible owners
Yeah true because Nexstar had just spent all kinds of money into the NBC 46 (KLAF) studios (after buying Com Corp from a local media group) and all that then they buy Media General and kept KLFY which was a smart move. Since AMG had it the station had the notoriety of having so many people let go from the KADN/KLAF station it was sickening. We are the only market in the state without a Gray affiliate I'm hoping they buy the station.

Gray agrees to buy stations in 10 markets....most would be in existing markets for Gray duopolies

The transaction would bring Gray into three new markets — Columbus-Tupelo, Miss.; Terre Haute, Ind.; and West Lafayette, Ind. — with the acquisition of the local television station in each market that had the highest all-day ratings in 2024, according to Comscore.
