I've got a Channel Master fiberglass .96 dish for vsat internet. Because of its molded struts, it sits high on my vehicle hood (bonnet) http://www.satelliteguys.us/attachment.php?attachmentid=2444

when it's not deployed

I saw some aluminum dishes and wondered if they'd be better, would work with my antenna and how much I could expect to spend on a used one, if I could find it. I'd even entertain going with a smaller dish, as the footprint here is pretty strong.

Which dishes are considered best (or cost more) fiberglass or aluminum?
