I asked here before if anyone knew where to get a am fm radio for a blind person. My blind buddy,s brother got one for him and it works well. It is a Sangean PR-D17 and is on amazon. Thinking of getting one for myself. It has a turner knob you turn and when you find a station it anounces the frequency and channel name. It anounces other dial functions and has a memory to store some channels. My friend really likes it and said it makes it easy to know what channel he is receiving. It also has a light up screen that shows channel frequency that someone might be able to read if they have some vision. It can be portable with 6 c-cell batteries but has a power adapter for 120 volt. The price is $81.20.

I had not heard of it till my buddy,s brother got it for him. He is really blind as he doesn,t detect any light at all. It seems to work well and he is happy with it.
