I am a newbee and just set up my new system. (coolsat 5000 and stuff) I can get the nasa channel and some church channel on 123. My question is the web site lists alot of other channels for free but when I do a bind search they are not there.

What satellites and channels are you trying to receive?

We need to know more about your system (what size dish, type of LNB, settings you are using on your receiver)...

what is your setup?

NASA and Angel One are on Dish 119 but thats the only free stuff besides Channel 101 :)

I have a 31 inch dish, dm910 rotor, invacom quad polar lnb. I would like to get the outdoor network channels. I think the correct setting are my problem. The system can find alot of scrambled channels. Is there a way to confirm that Iam on the right Sat?

The Outdoor Network channels are on the C-band side of Galaxy 10, not the Ku band. You'd need a much larger dish . This might be minimum 5 foot dish , etc.
When you look at Lyngsat entries, all the 4 digit entries like "4180 H" are C-band transponders. The 5 digit entries e.g. "11720 V" are Ku band.

With the coolsat 5000 I want to do a blind search. Do I turn the coaxial cable switch on for all sat's And what is commited and un commited mean? How do I find the right settings for the lnb feq and ect? Thank You so much for your time.

LNB Freq is 10750 for the linear side, 11250 for circular

I would remove the switch and just hook the line from one fo the "L" sides to the motor

Do I turn the coaxial cable switch on for all sat's And what is commited and un commited mean?

I agree with Iceberg! I would REMOVE all switches for now until you are all set up. (Manybe you are now?)

What kind of switch do you have?

In receiver settings, should he still specify DiSEqC 1.0 and use input 1 for Linear and input 2 for circular with Invacom?
Maybe, he asks about receiver setting: it could be "on" or "off"

thank you for your reply. I have a coolsat 4*1 switch. But I did remove it. Is there a sat that would be easy to find? I live in Buffalo NY.

AMC-5 is the highest in the sky for you!

Well here I am: At Amc 5.
I have the LNB power -on.
LNB Type - Universal
LNB freq is 9.750/10.800
The dise switch is off.
The sat freq is 11.749
The Sat level is 80%
I did a blind search and found nothing.
Are my settings right?

Sounds like you have the Invacom QPH-031 and are hooked to one of the Linear outputs!

The L.O. (LNB freq) should be 10750

Do not have that receiver but the LNB Type should be Standard, or Single

Yes I removed the cable swich and hooked it to the linear port. Is this the right thing to do?

Defiantly!

I would remove the motor and start with just a fixed dish! that's the way most of us here started! makes life a lot easier! And its a great way to get used to your system and its functions!

Walk before you run!

When I moved the dish with the motor I got the signal to 85 %. I played with the settings and got nothing. Now I put the switch back in and now I am getting some channels. I think that I am looking at the worng bird. So Used the motor to move more to the west to look at the next bird. I hope that I have found the right one. Time will tell. Thanks for your help:)
