Hello. I am a new poster, but longtime lurker. I recently purchased a new in box Am21 that had never been used on eBay. How do I correctly hook this up to an HS17 server?

I assume I will need to retain the EPS17 to supply power to the HS17, and use the separate power cord included with the Am21 to power it.

Am I correct in my thinking? Can I use the usb cable included with the Am21 to connect it to the HS17, or do I need a different usb cable to bridge the OTA device to the server? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

You need to use a separate power cord to plug it in. The one connected to it is for older receivers like the Hx2x where you would daisy chain the power cords

You can use the same USB cable, that goes directly to the HS17.

The Package came in the mail today in its original DTV box. Upon opening it, I found this was a brand new never used AM21N. I hooked it up with the supplied usb cable and power cord.

The HS17 recognized the OTA tuner, and I was able to successfully scan.

Should I be concerned however, that the power light never illuminated on the AM21N? Or is a faulty power led light nothing to worry about in and of itself?

Don't argue with success.

That's awesome that you were able to use it on the HS17, that's only the second report I've seen of this since they updated the software. Also pretty cool that you found a new unused AM21 - most of those are pushing 12-15 years old at this point, I think mine are from 2008.

They are all that old, whether they were ever used or not.
