Keep in mind that your AppleTV’s only job is to stream apps. The Hopper 3 on the other hand does many other things. When the Hopper is showing regular television programming is is relatively fast. When you go to apps it needs to change gears and go to a separate area, kind of like changing from forward to reverse. That takes some time. As HipKat suggested, it is always best to use an apps only device rather than the Hopper if it is possible.
