That would be contract& over 30 newspapers

That is too funny. That must be why channel 6 KFDM in Beaumont has yet to be added in HD on DISH.

That would be due to the contract to carry in HD hasn't come up for renewal. I think that it is most likely that it has to do with the fact that they own over 30 newspapers. They only own 8 TV stations.

Actually the contract for channel 6 has come up and past for the hd carry of channel 6 in Beaumont. Several months ago there was a threat by channel 6 to pull it's sd version off of DISH. That threat came and went with no change.

"Besides its flagship Orange County Register, the company owns 32 daily and 77 weekly newspapers, plus several television stations."

It looks like broadcasting is a sideline business with this company. The 8 stations they have (5 CBS, 2 ABC, and 1 CW) are in smaller markets and even if they are profitable, would bet those weekly "newspapers" are hemorrhaging cash quicker than the TV stations can pull it in. Score one for CraigsList, they have to be doing a number on these kind of papers.
