I have setup Vista Media Center (VMC) but satelite (dish network) cannot be used for HD content. I am mulling over TWC if they offer any HD channels that can be integrated in Media Center with TV Tuner, so my question is:

- Does TIme Warner offer any ''National'' HD channels in CLEAR QAM? or
- Hd channals without need of Set-top box?

Location: Dallas, TX Market

After extensive research, it turns out if channels are avialable in QAM standard then it can be tuned in VMC, otherwise I will have to use ATSC tuner for over the air local channels.

Thanks.

This seems like a question that would best be asked of TWC in Dallas, TX.

Typically you need a digital service subscription and maybe even a CableCard to get any non-local channel HD channel.

TWC rep had no idea what QAM is...... that is why I ended up here.

I have the real basic broadcast service of TWC here in Western New York and my Samsung HDTV does pick up about 10 channels in HD, plus all the Music Choice Channels off its QAM Tuner while hooked up to cable. The appear at weird numbers and you have to scan to find them. Your best bet is to find someone in your area that can do what I did and see what you get.
