Any Magic for 311 Hard Drive Failure

Looks like my HD bit the dust. Red button and unplug give same results. Anyone have some magic dust or am I scrodged?

As the 311 doesn't have a hdd, you should be fine.

In that case, contact Dish, and ask for a replacement. You can also PM a DIRT member. They are listed in red at the bottom of the main Forums page.

If you have important shows on it, don't mind opening and voiding warranty on receiver, have a spare computer, and provided the HDD does not have special firmware and can be seen by a computers bios, you can run spin rite on the drive and it might get it running again or at least able to move the shows to EHD. I will say I don't think this has been attempted but in theory it should work.
