Any PS3 Experts on sound?

Hooked up my PS3 to my Computer monitor using HDMI, sharing it with my gaming machine of course.
Anyway I get sound but I have no control of the sound when using my PS3 the normal way does not work.

any ideas?

You don't have the audio part hooked up to external speakers (not in the monitor)?

Audio is hooked up to external speakers for.my.computer but the sound from the ps3 is coming through the monitor speakers that I didn't even know existed burning don't see any volume buttons.

Actually found the button on the monitor..So all is good thanks.
