Anybody on GMRS?

Just reinstated my GMRS license after an expiration of 5 years. Getting the license now is done on-line, and within 24 hrs you have your license and call sign. Amazing world we live in.

Plan is to set up a GMRS station for mobile-to-house comms, not sure how good the range will be but from past experience with a base antenna and a good mobile antenna it's about 6 miles or so, at least in this area. If you can find a repeater the distance is much greater.

Anyone else using GMRS?

Just read a little about it. Interesting. My problem is that if I had one in hand, I wouldn't know what to say.

I am currently licensed but have not had the time to experiment yet.
