I just starting scanning with my new Sathawk HD PVR. Haven't been able to pick up any of the DVB S2 chs. such as Florida Network and the NBC's listed on lyngsat on a farther west sat (don't remember whcih on at the moment...103W maybe) IS the FL Net still active and is it tricky to pick up? Have to figure out how to enter transponders on the rec. I am now able to get the MPG 4 WUTV and the other WA Public access ch. on 123W.
Merry Christmas all!

Carter,

Yes, I am able to pull the FKN and the FL channel in from 87.0°W Ku.

I am using AZBox Premium Plus receiver and a 1.2M dish/QPH-031 Invacom LNBF (Omaha, NE area).

FKN on 12044 MHz VER 3199 Ks/S DVBS2-8PSK @ 66% Q
FL CH on 12048 MHz VER 3199 Ks/S DVBS2-8PSK @ 66% Q

Their signal quality is not really HOT, more mediocre, but they are very stable. I didn't need to do anything special to log them in, they blind scanned in naturally.

RADAR

Unless they're really strong, like the mostly-scrambled Russian mux on 99, or really low symbol rate, like the South American mux on 30, DVB-S2 channels generally need a really precise aiming of the dish. This includes the fact that the skew is screwed up on 103.

Oh so you have one too Lak7. Well when I do the scan using the preset chs. I see the transponder apepar but can't lock in on it. I also try blind. I am having some issues with 87w for example I'm not pulling in Patient Ch very well even now (think I need to tweek my elevation very slightly...but will kepp trying. And yeah I only have capability for KU band now...hey is there a way to rename the sat so that instead of showing their sat name you can display the position? and do you use the PVR and if so can you program a recording to take place? I have an external hardrive and have figured out how to record live video. Is it the timer function? the manual isn' t that helpful...

Rename satellite >> Go to Menu - Dish icon - Satellite List - Edit.
can you program a recording to take place? YES
Is it the timer function? YES. Do not turn the receiver off. Leave it ON. (Clock will loose the time)
the manual isn' t that helpful... I don't think it helps at ALL! 1 to 1 translation FAIL!
Definitely NOT a first receiver for anyone, because of the poor manual.
FKN and FL CH. Too weak for me to get on a .75M CM.

Thanks!
Got both taken care of! Was able to record a programmed show on RTV! Plan on recording Dragnet and Adam 12 each day from 5-6pm.
Do you set the clock to GMT or local? And it is nec to leave rec on for clock to work? And can you set to clock to run with civilian format instead of military format? My fortec had the option but haven't seen the setting in this rec. Thanks.

I've set my clock to local time. GMT usage - Off. Date format is day/month/year. For me this seems to hold the correct time. I don't think it s possible to change it to 12 hour format. Yes, Leave the receiver ON or it will lose the time. (Software, not hardware clock)

Thanks!

Unless this has been addressed and fixed, if you set a timer to record a program, it will shut off the receiver at the end of the recording. You'll have to go in and reset the time each time that happens.

Bummer I know, but for the price these are selling for, that is a minor problem.
