The guide on my 811 is having some issues. For example, it is showing "college basketball" on HNN and some NBA game on HDnet. Obviously those are wrong, so I was wondering if anyone else's guide has been screwed up today. Thanks

Try this with an 811: select the middle of three programs, go up or down through the guide. After a while you will be hours later in the guide.

Or try this: go right through the guide for some premium channel that uses non-half hour segments. The yellow box disappears but info will select the earlier/later program. The next advance may be 1/2 hour or much more if it is a longer show.

Yes, my guide was AFU. Finally got so frustrated that I called support.

Fix:

Press the power button on the receiver and hold it in at least 6 seconds (they actually had me hold it in about 1 minute).

If the unit does not power off, release the button and do a quick press until it shuts off (be patient, the 811 can be aggravatingly slow at times).

Then, after it shuts off, power it on again normally.

The guide will reload completely and be all fixed.

The problem I have with the guide is that it does not recognize one or two digit numbers, if I want to go to locals from a regular Dish Net channel it won't go to it, the locals have a dash and two zeros in front of the channel number, is there a way to change to locals directly or from the guide?

Apparently, it needs to be at least 3 digits, so press 002 for channel 2, 026 for channel 26, etc. If you want a digital OTA channel, press 0021 for 2.1, 0022 for 2.2, etc.

Someone on a forum taught me that. You'd think they might mention it in the manual. Maybe they do, but, I didn't see it.

It's not in the manual. It is the same scenario with the 6000, you gotta add in the extra digits.

My 6000 does this on ocassion the (temporary) fix is as described above power off for about 10sec or remove smart card.

Fix for what??? You have to have at least a 3 digit number to access OTA on a 6000.

Both my 6000 and 811 keep getting the guide messed up. I have to pull the smart card on the 6000 and on the 811 I have to hold the power button for about 20 seconds before it reboots.

This morning my 6000 had PPV Porn on CNBCW, and wanted to know if I wanted to pay $10.99 to watch CNBCW. That is when it is most annoying when PPV pops up on regular stations.

This problem has been going on for months, it is not new and is very annoying.

It's not in the manual, thank you.
