A friend called me and said he tried to order a hd dvr and was told by a csr directv was not doing any upgrades for a few weeks. he has been a directv customer for a few years. i told him to try retention , they told him the same thing albeit gave him some credits for his inconvenience. i then had him contact value electronics thinking they might be able to sell him a dvr and then do the install. no such luck, value electronics told him he needed to call directv for install. the strange part is i called just today to see what the deal was and i have a new hd dvr being shipped to me. the issue is not the dvr im assuming but my friend doesnt have the new dish, is the new dish all of the sudden hard to get ? I am in phila dma and he is in a shore town in north jersey. would i be right in thinking it might have something to do with this ?
