I think a better question might be, does it really matter? The commercials Samsung and Google are running are full of the same nonsense about what Gemini can do to supposedly improve your life, like explain why your plant leans toward the window or why you're doing your yoga position wrong. In my opinion, neither of those are compelling reasons to rush out and buy a Gemini capable phone. When Apple first touted their Apple Intelligence it was the same goofy schtick.

The only thing I've really used "Apple Intelligence" on has been to "erase" items from a picture, a feature that Affinity Photo had five or six years ago. Not really AI, just useful picture editing to clean up an image.

When it comes to AI I use two, Google search that does a pretty good job of understanding plain English now. It's fast and most of the time gives me answers I was looking for. Most recently I asked Google search to explain my estimated tax due considering the latest changes for retired people over age 78. I double checked it in Grok4 that I get for free and got the same answer. Grok took about 5 minutes to compute while Google did a more brief answer in about 10 seconds.
So will I use Apple Intelligence? I doubt it because if it makes decisions like selling Apple Vision Pro for $3500 when the Meta Quest 3 competitor is better is only $500. That's not very smart, IMO.

I think most AI is just a gimmick at this point. They need to monetize it, so obviously it's going to be filled with bias.

That's surely more of an indictment of Apple Intelligence than it is a take on AI as a day-to-day tool.
AI, in terms of a software application, is already developed (with the glaring exception of Apple Intelligence). What remains is broader exposure of the models to data.
AI right now is about 90% horseshit. it's not even ready for mainstream yet
While this is probably true of Apple Intelligence, I'm not convinced that it is so for Artificial Intelligence.
It depends on the flavor of AI. Google's is terribly unreliable and inaccurate.
The greater Internet is not a good training ground when it comes to quality information.
I imagine that Meta AI is much worse.
Either way, Apple still doesn't seem to have found a model that works for them, and until that happens, Apple needs to slow down on promising general AI support.
NO there behind in AI plus they keep screaming there coming out with a foldable phone non yet just concepts. samsung is light years ahead of apple

I suppose that depends on the kinds of answers you seek.
If you're looking for guidance in day-to-day life, politics or religion, AI will always suck.
If you want help with technical things, there are many good AI models.
That is exactly what they're pitching in the AI commercials for Gemini, Apple Intelligence, etc.
