Anyone possibly have a 942 DVR they’d like to get rid of?

I've been looking for a 942 DVR for a while and eBay has no results. The reason I've been looking for one is because it looks like a silver 722k and even uses the same UI as the ViP receivers. I know it's MPEG2 but there could be a slim chance that Dish actually could activate it since I did get my 322 and 311 to activate on my account (311 didn't work sadly) and even if it doesn't work it would be cool to have in my collection. Any help would be greatly appreciated

At least an old TV can be used, these things are worthless. Not worth the shipping!
It does use digital OTA, funny enough I used to use a 381 for OTA before I got Dish service. Even have a 6000 that can do digital OTA. Also just been trying to collect receivers that have been long forgotten. Yes there are modern OTA DVRs but the 942 just has that old Dish Network vibe and fits well with my CRT.

Since you like outdated technology, I've got just the thing for you. It's a brand new in the box, unopened Atari Game Console with two wireless controllers (batteries not included) and 76 built-in games. I can let it go for $150, including s/h to CONUS.

Dish removed all mpeg2 support so it won't work friend. I love that you have all the old receivers. My collections goes way back to the model 1000. I have the 7200 the first DVR that included a chat feature when internet connected, DSL of course allowed peer to peer communications, course all the Hopper series, there once was a time Dish published a software version chart that listed every receiver supported

Funny enough I had a 322 activated on my account not too long ago and I was able to still use SiriusXM channels on it. And I have a 381 that can still get OTA as long as I have it hooked up to my satellite without activation. I really wish there was a way to modify the old receivers to work with FTA.

Actually not that large at all. I liked this receiver and bought two of them. It was a silver box and it wasn't that much bigger than the 722k. It had name based recording and was the first dual tuner HD receiver to have it in 2005, after the 522 SD receiver in 2004. The 942 could record 2 satellite tuners and one ota tuner.

I think he's thinking of the 921.

I think my first HD box was a 622. I just didn't feel there was enough HD content to justify the expense until the 622 came out.
I bypassed the 622 and went directly with the 722. I had to pay an extra $100 for that upgrade. They would give me the 622 for free but I needed the 722 because of how I was set up at the time.
