DIRECTV and Apple have reached a new, multi-year agreement to make MLS Season Pass available to DIRECTV satellite and streaming consumers starting Feb. 22, timed to the kickoff of the 2025 MLS 30th season.

Starting today, DIRECTV residential streaming customers can sign up to watch MLS Season Pass for $14.99 a month through DIRECTV and watch games via DIRECTV or in the Apple TV app. DIRECTV Satellite customers can purchase the full season for $99.

Every game will be available to watch live in the DIRECTV interface on channels 480 through 495, similar to the viewing experience for other league packages today, or through the Apple TV app. Additionally, DIRECTV is making a free preview of MLS Season Pass available to all DIRECTV residential and commercial customers from Feb. 22 – March 1, after which those customers will be able to upgrade to MLS Season Pass through DIRECTV channels.

They do have the free NWSL+ which for US viewers carries the games that aren't on Ion, CBS, ESPN or Prime Video, but it's a streaming only service and like WNBA League Pass, so far it has no traditional MVPD distribution.

As long as NWSL offers their streaming product for free, I wouldn't expect DTV or any other MVPD to pick it up.

Maybe down the road next time that the WNBA's national rights are up, the expansion hits, and if there's bigger demand from bars and restaraunts for access to non-nationally televised games, they will seek some traditional distribution for League Pass, or partner with another service like ESPN+ or Paramount+.

The All Star Skills Challenge on 7/22 and the All Star Game on 7/23 will be available for free

The MLS on Apple TV channels are now in the guide on channels 480-494 for residential customers and 9475-9489 for commercial customers. F1 and Friday Night Baseball will also be available. For residential customers it requires you to subscribe to Apple TV through DIRECTV. For commercial customers it looks like it's going to be like Friday Night Baseball and only require a qualifying base package. The channel numbers for residential customers are still TBA, but for commercial customers F1 will be on 9526 and Friday Night Baseball will be on 9528 and 9529.

DIRECTV's agreement also renews the same customers' access to Apple TV's live sports with Major League Baseball's "Friday Night Baseball" doubleheaders throughout the 2026 campaign, as well as with a new season of Major League Soccer, starting this Saturday, Feb. 21. Starting this season, Apple is also including all MLS matches in its standard Apple TV subscription at no extra cost. Anyone who subscribes to Apple TV through DIRECTV will now be able to discover and watch Apple TV's live sports directly within their DIRECTV experience, without having to exit to a separate app.

DIRECTV customers will now have access to Apple TV's live sports programming — including MLS matches, F1 in the U.S., and "Friday Night Baseball" — all available directly inside their homes, on the go, or at any of the 300,000-plus sports bars, restaurants, hotels, and other commercial venues served by DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS. Anyone who subscribes to Apple TV through DIRECTV will now be able to discover and watch Apple TV's live sports, including all MLS matches, directly within their DIRECTV experience.

The F1 on Apple TV channels are now live in the guide on channels 205-7, 930 and for commercial customers on 9526

The practices and qualifying are also part of the schedule

From Apple's announcements, it looks like they will be carrying F1's global feed, while a separate stream will be available via the Apple TV app for those who rather watch the Sky Sports F1 UK feed.

For residential customers Friday Night Baseball will be on channels 928 and 929, with duplicates on 213-2 and 213-3

The Apple MLB channels are now testing on the stream server:
