archos 705 w/ directv

can anybody tell me if there is a way to download content from my dtv dvr to my archos 705?

No not directly. You have to connect the archos dvr station to your reciever to record to the archos.

IIRC the Dish receivers do it directly, but DirecTV never partnered with Archos, so they do not.
