Attention 531

I got S515 Friday morning, didn't watch much till Saturday night when I tried to record a movie. Went to the guide selected the movie an hit record this got a popup "Attention 531" "Please wait while we search for events that match your request", it lasted for about a minute the went away.

I got no timer indicator on the guide nor was it listed in the schedule .

I tried it on several different channels including OTA, and several different ways , from the info page,pressing the red record button while watching, even from Dish Anywhere it said the timer was successful but it wasn't.
I don't know if existing timer still work or not, haven't got one till this evening.

I tried a front panel reset, a menu reset and unplugged the receiver for 30 seconds also tried a check switch, none corrected the problem and that about emptied my bag of tricks so here I am looking for help.

Also now after I delete an item from my dvr list it comes back after a reset.
 
Sounds like the rms data isn't present or the search data isn't there or something. I would just make sure not to skip the nightly update and it should correct itself.
It has gone thru 2 nightly updates , Saturday and Sunday night, plus I've done a check switch

I would try a cold reboot. I lost the OTA dongle on my Hopper after the update and a reboot fixed it.

OOps, I just reread you original problem and see you did a reboot. I'm out of ideas.
 
Time to contact DIRT.
Got a hold of DIRT ( Jason S) over on the other forum.

they said an update (estimated release date 12/9) is set to be released to fix this and I should get this update within a week, hope so a DVR that won't record just don't get it.

Update:
It has been over a week and no fix. Contacted Jason S, on the other forum, & told him I wanted another HWS, a week was long enough, and was told a different would't fix the problem because it's a "system issue" and was told 75% of the people would just put up with the problem. I got my doubts 75% of the people would put up with a DVR that will not record, I know I'm not.

I'll be calling in today to either get a new box or to cancel service.
