never heard of it....

although I did fit in a Metro a few times :)
prefer my Ranger :D

The Mini Cooper is a remake of the orig Austin/Morris Cooper. This one is made by BMW.

You have to see the Newer version of the Italian Job Movie. Aside from Charleze Theron...Lots of Mini Cooper scenes that they use to pull off the heist! (they handle like a Porsche!!!)

Damn thing is like driving a high powered Go-Cart:D :D :D

Problem is that when my beagle sees it...he runs to get his snoopy goggles and scarf!:)

Major fun!

regards
jeff

There are hundreds of those things across town... I think they are cool for whipping around town but I'd hate drag the kids and the two dogs on a road trip in that thing.

I love the Mini Coopers. The first time I became aware of 'em was on the "Italian Job". I want one.

The Cooper is My Garage toy....

It's nice being single sometimes...The MINI is my 2nd vehicle (would not be able to have it as a primary)...Reno gets some heavy snow at times and the Cooper is a "Funmobile" for me! Also we have tons of rocks on the roads in winter...some might even get bigger than my MINI!:D

My primary is now a Honda Element..."The Uglymobile!"

It is Butt Ugly, but has tons of room, realtime 4 wheel drive, and rides like a car with decent MPG (21/26). Heck, if the uglymobile were a little larger, I could drive the MINI into it like in the first (1969) version of the Italian Job movie!:D

You have no idea....

You have no idea until you drive one! Mine is the regular Mini, but they also make the "S" Supercharged model....0-60 in under 8 seconds...and that is without Modifications...

Sorry Mods...Get carried away about the thing and this is an FTA group!

That's funny Tim:
I am now 58 and still planning on driving the Mini until I cannot see any more and they take my license away!!!!:D

I had a 1981 Porsche that I sold a few years ago (53,000 mi)...The Cooper is more fun believe it or not! The new (BMW model handles so well and is NOT FORGIVING!!! Gearbox is like silk!

I went to Sacramento (250 mi round trip....6.5 gals of gas!) since we have no dealer here, and had the inspection/services done...they had a showroom condition 1972 Austin Cooper on display with right hand drive!!! Woa!

They Also had about 8 Cabriolets on the Lot....Glad I left my Title home!!!! :)

Rented the original 1969 Italian Job (with the original Coopers!) to watch tonight too! What a car chase!!!! <I cheated and went to scene selections on my computer to check that part out!>

Next year's Mini will have a new engine with dual overhead cam and aluminum block w/ 165 hp! That is just 10hp under the Supercharged model currently being produced.

They are also switching from supercharged to Turbo...

AS MY DEALER SERVICE MANAGER SAID..."KEEP IT...IT IS ALREADY COLLECTIBLE!!!!" Bought it used (a 2003 with 23,000 mi confirmed by Carfax and Mini America basically) under book (THE DEALER WAS IN SHOCK) and it runs and looks new!.
Guess you will have to buy it from my estate!!!!:D

Thanks for the email!!!
Regards,
jeff

It is nice to buy toys with no one to answer to but yourself... :D

Luckily "buyer's Remorse" is not in My Vocabulary!

My old Porsche was a color called Bambus Beige (actually a light yellow)

My ex live in said it was ugly and called it Baby SH** Yellow...anyway she is gone and I kept the Porsche (not over the car of course....don't like being nagged!)...Maybe that's why so many married guys go deaf!:D :D :D

Thanks! :D You got it on the last guess...it's a 2005 Nissan 350Z Roadster. It's been alot of fun!

I bet it's fun...I Hope you use a good Radar detector!

I replaced my Valentine 1 with an Escort 8500....pretty good! (both actually)
Hey if my Mini will fit in the bed of your truck...we could do the Italian Job!!!!

I have found that as the radar technology gets petter (next and current threat is POP radar) the more difficult it is to "get" before they get you! In the old days, we used to put tin foil strips in the auto's front grill to confuse the older radar:)

IMHO radar detectors rank as follows:

1) Escort 8500
2) Valentine 1 (although it is close and has some nice features that the 8500 does not....but is huge! This guy actually invented the radar gun!
3) Bel higher end units
4) Cobra (some)

The problem with the cheaper units is that they will detect the radar but sometimes not far enough away to give you time to slow down! Not good since the "copper" will have you before you have them! They will also give you more "false alarms".

Instant on radar...you are dead no matter what, unless radar scramblers are legal where you live....All of course is just my experience (driving with my old Porsche and now the Cooper. I usuallly do not go out of my way to speed, but with these type of cars...sometimes SH** just happens!:D
