First off thanks to all of you who contribute to this forum, I have read so much here.

Now here is my problem, I will be watching HD programing and the Audio will drop out (normally during a commercial break). If I hit the mute button on my audio receiver and then un-mute it the audio comes back. I believe it may be some sort of an issue with how the audio was recorded for the show/commerical.

My equipment is as follows:

D* HR21 DVR
Marantz SR8200 Audio Receiver

I did not have this issue prior to adding the HR21.

Your ideas?

I have not heard of a problem like this before. A couple troubleshooting questions to get started:

How is your audio ran to the receiver?
Do you have Dolby Digital enabled?
Does your receiver support auto-sensing the audio type? (Is it enabled?)

My guess without knowing any more is that you have Dolby Digital enabled on the receiver and it goes off when commercials play (you might be right). When you mute/unmute the receiver, it forces the link to be renegotiated as standard 2.0 audio.

The audio is ran via Optical Cable and yes Dolby is enabled. I will have to go through the audio receiver and see if there are any auto-sensing settings.
