Sure would be nice if we could have the 811 automatically output SD material in 480p mode and HD material in 1080i mode....


I guess it's not as bad as my Samsung 351.. you have to flip a tiny switch on the back to change resolutions.
 
I've had my 811 about a week and I just noticed that the composite SD and the component HD outputs are active simultaneously. This is great for me since I feed the SD output throughout the house via a modulator.

The analog SD output changes picture size and format according to the type of programming. All 16:9 is letterboxed, but 4:3 may fill an analog TV screen or be inside the 16:9 frame, depending on how the local stations are formatting the signal. There's even a couple of stations that are in-between sizes, not full screen and not part of a 16:9 frame. If this were happening on the digital or component output it would drive me crazy.
