Ban Baseball at 8

Who's your local MNTV? I'll tell you who to contact.

Your location indicates that your MyNetworkTV affiliate is as follows: WSAZ DT2 (Not on Dish). If you receive Columbus locals, this affiliate is WSYX DT2 (Not on Dish).

really? where does it say in your bill X amount for smackdown? and the channel line up advises access to the channel. not to particular shows. if you dont like the show, then contact the programmer. they decide what goes on their channel. thats why its their channel.

I was talking about the superstation wwor it's got base ball 8 I paid for SmackDown at 8 it's the only MyNetwork dish got.
Do they not show it at a later time or date?
WNUV used to show it the next day when WB had Smackdown, and they had an Orioles game on Friday.

edit: just looked at the WWOR schedule, they are showing Smackdown at 11pm, after the baseball game & news.

You actually pay for smackdown? It is not part of the regular programming? What happens if you don't pay, what do they put in it place?

Baseball is a live event and Smackdown is taped. It makes more sense to delay a taped event vs a live event

Banning? These are three private entities with contractual agreements. There should be no banning of anything. Let them decided based on ratings and profits how they should set their programming.

WWOR is first a New York Station that has MyNetwork affiliation.

My guess is that a LOT more of it's New York veiwers would rather watch a Mets-Yankees game live, than a taped WWE Smackdown show, which will still be shown after the game.

WoW, WWOR has been doing Mets games forever cept for short break when WPIX took coverage, but OP is probably right Smackdown ratings probably doulbe a ho-hum Mets- Yanks series. Really doubtful on that one....

In the NY market, local baseball has higher ratings that Smackdown. And baseball is a live sport, while Smackdown is a taped performance that can be shown at a later time or date.

Besides it comes down to contractual agreements. NY sports brings the local stations significant revenue. They make scheduled carriage agreements which includes carriage rights over nationally syndicated programming.

These same agruments are made by many who do not like to see their regularly sceduled programs interupted by live events. I get upset when KTLA shows the sorry Clippers over something else I want to see. I also realized that this is a contractual agreement that brings in extra revenue to the station. Revenue that often alows the station to stay on the air and continue to show the programming I like.

OP, look at it this way. The revenue that NY sports brings assist in the profits of the station that allows them to continue to bring programming you like.

I think the weekend bender with a few boxes of wine is finally wearing off and he is realizing his drunk thread... ;)
