Best SDR device/software combo for recording FM and HD Radio?

I'll admit I'm behind the times when it comes to SDR. I'm looking for an easy to use SDR usb device and combo software to record FM radio broadcasts (preferably on a schedule) and ideally HD Radio broadcasts which after reading I see is now apparently possible? I figure many here have been doing this for awhile now, so I wanted to ask for advice as opposed to trying to pick out the best combination blindly?

I think the HD Radio aspect may not be there yet. A review of the audio quality from last April was "not impressive" and "not great for music" as compared with analog.

Of course with HD Radio, you typically have to be located rather close to the tower to pick it up at all so that lets me out.

I chose to go the route of capturing streaming audio off of the Internet instead as even the AM stations sound pretty good.
