Better to run 300 ohm or 75 ohm from antenna?

Guys. 300 ohm flat wire needs no pre-amp. the 75 ohm does. So you use a cable of 75 ohms no picture, then you buy a good pre-amp $80.00 you get a fair picture, use the flat 300 ohm get better picture no pre-amp useing the 75 ohm cable but it cost more & picture not as GOOD , the ohms is what gives you the signal.
