blue book, red book, stars?

I've looked around on this site to try to find out the meaning each of the little "book symbols" to the left of each post. Surely it's explained somewhere, but I can't find where.

I did a search and I looked in the glossary.....and failed to find the answer. Maybe I just overlooked an already posted explanation....I don't know.

It might be a good idea if you guys could explain their meaning in an easy to find place....maybe the glossary.

I guess maybe I should be able to figure them out on my own...but I can't.

Here are the variations that i don't understand:

blue book
red book
small star in the upper left corner of the book
larger star in the lower right of the book
