More salt in the wound...

(ABC is one of three channels I've lost)

ABC to Limit Next-Day Viewing Online

Fans who are accustomed to viewing such shows as Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and Revenge on ABC.com after they air on television may not be able to do so as of next week.
ABC has announced that in order to view shows online through its website the same week they air on TV, customers will have to verify their cable subscription — but the shows won't be available to people who use DirecTV, DISH or Time Warner Cable. Hulu Plus users will also be able to view the shows the day after they air.
Customers who don't have a cable login or subscribe to Hulu Plus will have to wait eight days before the shows become available for open viewing on ABC.com. Next-day paid downloads will also continue to be available through Amazon Instant Video and iTunes.

That's stupid on ABC's side IMO. First, it excludes those who have "cut the cord" and a just watching OTA. Second, you can set it up so viewers can't skip through the commercials, so you have the captive audience.

Keep in mind, this is the network deciding this, not the local affiliate. Bonten has no say in the matter.

Boy that was a rather quiet stations are back.Figured this thread would have been more active with that news.

This outfit is small compared to MG. I don't know for sure but think the Tri-Cities is probably their biggest & as far as members here the 1's I know of I can tally with 1 hand.

Charter recently had a dispute with MG, it came right down to the wire but they managed to work it out last minute. The funny part about that is. During the Dish/MG dispute, Charter was 1 of the alternative providers MG was recommending people switch to. http://www.johnsoncitypress.com/article/113750/charter-customers-could-lose-wjhl-wednesday-night

There will be many more disputes this coming year that will make bigger headlines than this. It is the new normal for pay TV customers. While many are wound up about getting the latest & greatest equipment I will quietly sit on the sidelines. Knowing I can pull the plug at a moments notice without losing any sleep is priceless. Channel disputes, price increases, the new gotta have..........well I'm not drinking from that punch bowl.
