Anyone in Boston switch to dish/voom hd using an 811 rcvr?

I scanned/added the local digitals using the voom antenna. Worked fine.

They all show no guide data, and I know psip data is there.

I also know that the 811 does use it, since channel 44-01 had a 3 hours block of listings for last night in the OTA channel guide.

How do I load it? Do I have to turn the rcvr off to get it to load?

Anyone know?

So, in Boston

I get 44-01 with listings (OTA) on my 811

None of the other 17 OTA channels show listings, but they do on my TV SET, which also has an OTA tuner. Very wierd.

I just activated and get no guide data either yet. Maybe it will take time. I have three other PC based HD tuners and it seems that Boston station PSIP data is spotty on them too. Some days there is a lot, other times almost nothing.
Also, I can't seem to get the 811 to lock on 56.1 (41) reliably, although the Voom box and my PC cards get it well.
Beyond that its great to be Vooming again.

use for Voom dish?

I'm in the southcoast MA region. Does anyone know if by redirecting the Voom dish one can receive any usable signal? (i.e., viewable using the voom stb)

even the birds can't figure out a use for it!

I added 110 and 119 to the mix. Did not update my programming pkg, but all of a sudden, most of my OTA locals have guide data. I only sub to voom and hd pack.

It happenned right after I added 110/119 and powered down/up the 811

I get everything xxx-01 (except 68-001). Nothing in guide data for xxx-02, xxx-03, etc.

Go figure!

I have 2 811 one conneted to OTA and another Comcast basic cable. On the OTA 811 I get all data for the boston station except PBS-HD and RI stations.
On the Comcast 811 I get all 26 basic channels but no guide data.

You connected a dish receiver ota antenna connection to your comcast cable?
Didn't you lose hd ota channels doing that?

Are you getting guide data for 005-02, 044-02, 044-03, 044-04,
068-01,2,3,4????

What firmware version are your 811's on?

And I see only 18 channels, where do you live? And can you list them?

There are 2 free internation channel in my town RAI and RTP on basic cable for 6.95, if I ordered thoses through Dish the 2 channels alone would cost me 25.00

I still have OTA on the main TV through the 811

There is no PSIP data for 5-2, and yes your right I don't get the 44/2-4.

The 29 OTA channels I get

2-1
2-2
4-1
5-1
5-2
6-1
6-2
7-1
10-1
10-2
12-1
12-2
12-3 (blank used only for March Madness)
25-1
36-1
38-1
44-1
44-2
44-3
44-4
46-1
56-1
64-1
64-2
66-1
68-1
68-2
68-3
68-4

So, you get data in the guide for 02-02, 68-01,68-02,68-03,68-04?

What satellites are you pointing at? I am at 110, 119, 61.5 and do not see guide data for these channels.

You are closer to Providence, so you get their stations.

I do not. If I turn my antenna about 80 degrees, I can get 10

Soon, July, the channels are supposed to broadcast their digital signals at full power, so then is when we can see if you get channels!

Read carefully, the poster did not say Comcast Box, instead the poster said Comcast basic cable. You would run the Analog channels into the 811 and tune them in. Thus receiving those "free" international channels through one receiver.
