Broken 301 ?

Need some advice. Have two 301 rec. ,one was disconnected for maybe a month. Now after it was reconnected it will only receive maybe five channels and everything else says that the smartcard is not enabled for this channel. ck of the signal says all three sat. are being received o.k. . My daughter took it upon herself to call a csr and he said " it's broke honey , we'll send you another for $49.99". What gives? Smartcard?

You need to have a hit sent aka reauthorized. The IRD will self deactivate if not plugged in for x amount of days.

If the check switch was ok and the software is updated, which it should be since the 301's been the same since spring, call back. It just needs a hit.

Actually if you leave it connected overnight it should receive the reauthorization without calling if you're willing to wait.

Yep just get it re-hit I run into this all the time.
