C Band Receiver setup

I'm sure that "someone" out there knows how to Correct this problem. Irecently installed a New Polarotor "Chapparel LNBF" and somehow it changed my Picture. Other than the picture not being as bright meaning as if you turned a light on, the picture is darker. No matter what I do on any TV in my home, the C-Band doesn't change. It's a Cable Innovations Model 200 Receiver, and I am told that it is similar to a General Instruments one. If anyone has had this happen, Please let me know how you corrected the problem.
