Cable channels through 622

I have Comcast basic cable and my TV detects the local channels in HD when I connect the coax cable to my antenna input. I tried to get my 622 to detect these same channels using the OTA input and setting it to Cable, but it doesn't detect anything. Should I be able to pick up all the same channels or am I doing something wrong?

You can't, the 622 doesn't have a QAM tuner for cable.

Hook a cable box to a dish and see what you get....

Hooking a cable connection to the receiver will not get you any channels, and if it is straight run to the tv through the receiver, you will not have the cable channels on the tv by this hook up as the receiver does not have pass through on that connection.

I think the confusion comes from the fact that the menus make it look like the 622 can receive cable. It cannot though.

TVs often have a QAM tuner for cable signals. Satellite has an ATSC tuner.
