Verizon Reaches Carriage Agreement With SportsNet New York

SNY to Air on Verizon FiOS TV's Ch. 67 Beginning March 30


NEW YORK, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon today announced a
carriage agreement with SportsNet New York (SNY), the television
home of the New York Mets and New York Jets, which launched March
16. SNY will air on channel 67 -- beginning March 30 -- on Verizon
FiOS TV, Verizon's new fiber-optic TV service, which is currently
available in the New York market in Massapequa Park, Nyack and South
Nyack. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"We are pleased that SportsNet New York will be available to Verizon
FiOS TV customers," said Jon Litner, president of SportsNet New
York. "We look forward to joining Verizon's emerging platform and
providing their subscribers in Long Island, Rockland County, and
ultimately to other parts of the New York market, with the most
comprehensive coverage of all New York sports -- including the New
York Mets home-opener on April 3."

strategy & acquisition, "This agreement with SportsNet New York
shows how two companies can cooperate to offer quality sports
programming to Verizon customers. We are extremely pleased to bring

other event-programming to the homes of FiOS TV customers in the New
York market."

SportsNet New York will be part of FiOS TV's Expanded Basic package,
which features 180 digital channels and more than 20 high-definition
channels. SportsNet New York will complement other major cable and
network channels available to Verizon subscribers.
