i have the dish 1000 on my roof with three lines for all three lnbs. but one line is bad the house was prewired so cable is inthe walls can i combine 2 lnbs outside at the dish and run that line to the basement seperate it again in the basement so it can go into the dp44 and still run the2nd cable that is outside down to the dp44 for the third input on the switch

Iceberg is correct.

However, here are some possible solutions (depending on your setup):

(1) Put your DPP44 Switch on the roof next to the Dish 1000, preferrably under the soffet. Then you can use the two good cables to feed 2 single tuner receivers; or with a couple of DPP Separators, you could feed 2 dual tuner receivers.

(2) Provided the 3 cables go through the attic and are good at that point, put your DPP44 in the attic. Then connect same as (1) above.

What is the purpose of a Switch?

Losing OTA signals Periodically on all TVs
