Can I Hit Amazonas 61.0 West From Here?

Getting 61W gets more and more difficult as you head west in the US. On the east coast, no problem at all.

Another question about Amazonas 61.0 w

Now, I know I'm in the foot print and should receive Amazonas 61.0 west, I'm curious about the type of LNBF.

I'm using a 10 ft. Bud with a Captive Works 800 Receiver along with a BSC621-2 Ku/C Band LNB.

The motor is messed up, therefore, I use it as a fixed unit.
I usually hit most of the sats I want.
However, I can't seem to hit 61.0 W

Wondering if anyone may be using same set up or may know whether or not my Lnb is the correct type to hit 61.0 west.

Of course the problem could be me.

Your knowledge and ideas are appreciated.

Whats the most eastern satellite you can receive KU signals on? If you get ku on 72W, the problem might be that your dish is not tracking the arc closely enough-has to be right on the money for ku. And tracking problems that might not be apparent in the middle of the arc will usually show up at the extreme east or west locations.

I'm not far from you in Ft Lauderdale, FL. I am using a much smaller dish (6 ft) with DMX741U lnb combo and can get Amazonas 1 & 2 at 61W, Telestar 14 at 63W, and Star One C1 at 65W. can also get Simon Bolivar 78W from Venezuela all on C band.

I'm located in central Fl at lat 29.28 and Long 81.47.

I couldn't find the foot print and am wondering if I can get a link to the foot print or can I hit 61.0 West from here.

Thanks

at you're lat of 29.28 yes you will get Amazonas-2, but don't think you will get much on Amazonzas-1, unless you have a big an well tuned Ku dish, along with a universal LNB.

I am also in Fla 26.9 lat on the west coast, an I can get Amazonas-1 here not all of the TP's 12 of them, with fair to low signal 30's, 40's to 50's on Q, an that is with a 1.8m Channel Master offset feed KU dish, had a 1.2m commercial dish up on that same mount an only got about 6 or 7 TP's an some TP's would have signal then drop it's lock, was right on it's edge. now their is 1 TP on Amaz-1 that is a data that you should be able to lock 12132-V-27000 this is 1 hot TP for use here in Fla, I can lock it with a 90cm dish.
here are a few more TP's on Amaz-1 that have fair signal.
11811-V-26666 44 on Q
12091-H-28880 51 on Q
12092-V-30000 48 to 50 on Q
all from the SV-8000 receiver.

now my 1.8m C.M. dish I use will beat any of my 10's or 12's here by a great deal on signal it is 1 very hot performer.

now on Amaz-2 they are adding TP's on a regular basics since it came on line, with real hot signal, but they are mostly S2, an are real stout on signal too. those I can not list here.

also another sateliite to consider to look at for you're tuning is Intelsat-903 Ku low band, their is a S.America cable mux their, that only use folks in Fla can look at, I get it with big signal here, an have a friend in N.Fla (Live Oak) that also can lock it too with fair to low signal.
here are some of those TP's.
11190-H-30000 100 on Q
11554-H-30000 100 on Q
11634-H-30000 100 on Q + more TP's
this should help you on you're tuning, good luck.

The C band is very strong on all transponders on Amazonas 1. The weakest is 4174H Canal 13 -Paraguay

Don't forget 11675H 3000 which has 3 open channels from France

Don't you mean 11675-H-30000??, that's why I listed "+ more TP's".
I have 9 TP's that are hot 24/7 on that bird, was not going to list all of them, plus more on feeds on the week end.
an at the 1st of the year they where all open, then they started to flip switches.
an if it's not posted on lyngsat they frown on posting here.

I finally hit the bird last night.
I was able to pick-up 19 stations on K band.
I also hit the c band side, picked up about the same amount of channels.
I will do some fine tuning and see what I get.
My main problem was that I was channel scanning instead of blind scan. the 2nd time I blind scanned i was able to hit it.
