Can I use a Directv Dish as a 61.5 wing?

I just became a new Dish subscriber after a long time with Directv, so I'm not very familiar on how the Dish systems work yet.

The Dish people installed a 1000.2 system so I get the 110, 119, & 129 orbitals. However I live in Miami, FL and the only orbital that picks up FSN HD and SUN HD is 61.5. So I need to add a wing dish in order to get it. I read already that I could just use a D300-D500 dish and plug it into the 1000.2 input.

The thing is, I still have the old Directv dish which is a 5-lnb Slimline. So my question is, can I put up that Directv dish and plug it into the 1000.2 input to get the 61.5 orbital? Or do I have to use a the D300-D500 dish?

On a side note, was I even supposed to receive the 1000.2 Dish since i'm in Miami, FL? Shouldn't they have installed the 1000.4 EA dish instead to avoid this problem all together?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the site!!!

No your old Directv dish won't work.

You wouldn't get your local HD channels if you use the 1000.4. Sd versions are on 119 and the HD ones are on 110. Dish usually goes by your locals, the problems with the rsn's recently became to light. Hopefully it doesn't take Dish too long to fix.
