Can I use a PI-29 without putting in a swm8 or 16?

Can a PI-29 work fine with a swm LNB without using a swm8 or swm16 in the setup? Obviously the PI-21 would be the preferred choice but if they're not available (out of stock in garage) would a PI-29 be a suitable replacement?

Sure, it will work but no guarantees on how long.

As noted, a PI29 can always be used in a swm setup, a PI21 only with a swm lnb. Just to be clear to Kungfu Panda, a swm lnb is never used with a swm8 or swm16.
