i ask this because i have two from my previous cable provider, and i will be moving soon, to a town that has comcast and i wondering since they use these boxes, if i shoud not just take these with me and use them

Those boxes don't belong to you, they belong to your cable provider. Leave them behind and let your new location provider give you new ones.

well when i ordered service, the lady told me to try them

The lady is an idiot!! Point blank. Thier not going to work. Since the serial number is not in cable data the boxes won't work nor will they activate them. Technically it's a stolen box.
