Can't find how to reset.

I need to know the remote commands to do a master reset on a 301.Not the unplug BS the 6,1,1 left,right or whatever it is to really reset the receiver.Thanks in advance.

You either hold the power button on the receiver for 5 - 7 seconds or you unplug it. There is nothing on the remote.

You can do it with all receivers I believe.I don't know if the sequence is the same on the newer ones or not.You push 6-1-1 then left-right-info or something.I have done it before.It dumps everything passwords and all.

You may be thinking of Factory Refaults, press menu 6, then 6, select yes. (At least that is where it is on my receivers.)

I know what the op is thinking about and sorry it don't kill passwords....The only way to do that is to call dish and have then send a password re-set.

Menu- option 6(system setup)-Option 3 (Diagnostics). Press Info - Browse (Left) then themes (Right). Then press TV/Video. Then try pressing (play, play then recall). Then unplug the receiver for a few seconds then plug it back in and re-do the check switch and all of you settings that you want set up. It works on my VIP622. Not sure all the reset features on the 301 receivers.
