I live in eastern NC and with regular storms, seem to get signal blocked often. I was told a larger dish, (6 ft) would keep the signal strong. Where could I get one of these and have it compatible with my current Diret TV service? Would I need a new LNB or would there be a way to connect the current LNB to that larger dish?

:welcome to Satelliteguys!
Just to be clear, are you losing signal during heavy rain storms, or just normal rain? Can you post your current signal strengths on all of the satellites?
