IF it's on CBS and it's not a summer series it won't make it. Cbs , like most main networks, always kill sci-fi fantasy shows in short order. CW would be the more appropriate channel for this genre.

Gotham is a different kettle. No superpowers, so an origin thing is easily done as a gritty police procedural show. Especially with it's focus being on Gordan, with Bruce Wayne being a peripherial character.

Supergirl though, spins into another teen angst Smallville type show.
