H21-100 MRVing from a HR21-100
Report: 20090628-3740

H21-100 locked up (video freeze and no remote response) in the middle of streaming the recording of last week's "In Plain Sight." H21-100 eventually rebooted itself.

Recording played through the freeze location just fine with DirecTV2PC. Recording also played through the same location on the H21-100 after rebooting.

EDIT: H21-100 locked up again later in the program.

Bringing up the recordings list on the H21-100 for the first time after a reset takes about a minute, and when the window comes up, it seems to be unpopulated. However, hitting Ch Down on the remote displays page 2 of the recordings from the HR21-100.

I have an H21-200. When I press the 'LIST' button, the unit doesn't respond to the remote anymore. Nothing. I have to press the red reset button. Once it comes back from rebooting. The unit responds to the remote once again. That is, until I press the 'LIST' button again.

EDIT:
Ok, tried it again later. Turns out that it finally responded after about 30-40 seconds. Yesterday I could have sworn I waited well over a minute or two before I rebooted the device. Anyway, once it responded, the other 'LIST' button calls responded much quicker.

Either way, the remote should be responding, and not acting like the unit has gone off to never never land.

Well, this new interface is a bit buggy. Lots of delays. When I pulled up the list, it showed a show currently being recorded by the DVR, but didn't show two recent shows that were recorded within the last hour. Well, I decided I could resort the list to fix this problem. Hmm, sort by Date(new) and Date (old)? I'll pick the new version. Over two minutes later, list still hasn't responded back.

I decided to cancel it, but it finished??? New list shows the two shows that were recorded early that day, but the one currently being recorded is now gone.

This new list interface is driving me crazy.

Well, the more I use this release, the less useful it becomes. The list isn't getting updating. When I try to update the list, the unit constantly stalls. The last time I used it, the until ended up blanking out the entire list. While some of the new features are nice, and the appearance looks better than ever, the usefulness of this MRV took a six month step backwards in my opinion.
