changing channels on antenna

I just put a tv on the diplexer that goes to one of my dish dvr's. When i change channels on it, it tells me it will stop the recording on the other tv. I should be able to change channels on the extra tv without it stopping the recording, right? Is it something with the tv1/tv2 thing?

Make sure you're in dual mode not single.
