Anyone having trouble downloading channel maps? Had to do a master reset on my 922 and the unit will not load all of the satellite tiles/channel maps (stops at 755 channels).

Currently have a fixed setup on 91 for NFL Network........

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I haven't heard of any problems. Let's hope Motorola hasn't pulled a fast one yet. Where are you getting the maps? I would try G1-3 if possible. If your trying to get the maps on 91 I don't think there are any channels that provide them there.

Thanks for the response.

In the past, I have been able to load the maps on 91 (4180V, I believe).......

Thats weird I know I can get map updates off W5. Maybe you need a hit? Otherwise G1-3 is guaranteed. Maybe someone else can give some other input. I always used G1-3 or W5.

I just tried powering off my 922 with it left on W5-440 & W5-100 for an hour each time. The hit count increased by 1 each time so the updating is already "trickling" in on W5 for the 4DTVs subbed to W5 etc. packages.
The program guide updated as well for me while left "powered off" on W5.

To the OP: what sub package do you have & what provider?

Edit: my 922 just took 4 more hits on W5-150 in a short 20 minutes! This is a NS channel for me. Maybe this channel will work for you?

The 4DTV's EMM will take hits on W5 although will not take the guide trickle mode. It will need the Comcast EMM to do that.

Just subbed to the NFL Network (fixed dish on 91 west). Purchased through SRL.

I don't sub with anybody anymore but I noticed that if my clock is off by a minute or 2 and I go to W5 it gets corrected.BUt that's scary because I AMNOT SUBSCIBED but in order to update my clock they have to know what time zone i'm in.So even if you stop subbing they keep your databases somewhere in the system so they know exactly who is subscribed and who's not subbed bt still using 4dtv receivers anyway

Do you still have a guide? If you do you will still be in the system if its expired I think your defunct after a while and won't take hits. I know after a few months VC2 wouldn't get hit anymore. It may take a few months after the guide expires for a DC2 number to become inactive.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think your timezone for the clock probably comes from some kind of "location" that is set in your unit, rather than from a provider db managing everyone's clocks.

Cheers

No I have no guide.Well the thing is I haven't been on G1 since they removed the DMX channels fr the maps.Because then I downloaded Al and I don't wanna lose it.I got hit at W5 440 the last month I subbed but I didn't use the guide.I have a monthly sub to Satelitte orbit magazine but that's useless now since I don't hav any subscription channels. They need to start listing Fta channels too I don't know whythey don't do that. They concentrate to much on the BELOVED Dish Network.

I have been on G1 and been hit quite a few times since I got AI. Also did a few soft resets due to a power failure to get my guide working properly again and I still have AI. If AI disappeared the DMX channels are on 2 generics. Now that I have no subscriptions I will probably not do much till the end of the year and see what happens then.

As far as Dish Network goes Skyvision and SRL are not in be with Charlie. NPS got into bed because Charlie used them to carry his distant networks. Quite a few crooked deals were made to circumvent the FCC. Charlie pays big greenmail to get his way and greedy Mike Mountford went for it and adopted Charlies attitude and business tactics.

Lets look at the bright side, Charlie has got quite a few problems right now with Disney/ESPN and now Fox. Pretty soon all you'll see on dish network is dead channels with slates saying Charlie is working for you to get these back (ROTFLMAO). The dumb sucker Dishnet subscriber is paying to watch those slates. At least with Skyvision/SRL they will provide you programming on W5 next year. With Charlie you will be paying for dead air. Charlies hardball tactics with the programmers will be the death of Dishnet, you watch and see. What comes around goes around. For all the damage he has done to C band he deserves to loose Dishnet and go back to his life of gambling where it all started. Maybe if he don't pay his debts there a few of the boys can really rough him up :bounce

Well who said I'm going with Dishnet?I said I;m not subbin I'll stay Fta only but it looks like they are all the same.Because why did they lie?????On Programming center's webside they we're listing the subs till 6 months just like NPS was doing. So they knew that 4dtv is gonna end.But when I called them they said no that's not true. And Motorola said in the beginning that they would never shut down C band if teh PROVIDERS are STAYING.That means that if they are shutting it down now that it was the PROVIDERS that wanted to shut down. It's all a bunch of games. And Skyvision DO SELL DISH NET.They're plans are all evil to destroy C band.At dec31st if you want to use your 4dtv to move your dish for fta DISCONNECT THE COAX.Because they are gonna wipe out our maps.WHy do you think we've got teh AL map?If they wanted to test if the 4dtv receivers could get the 410 emm all they had to do was take a 4dtv reset it and try to get the 410 emm.BUt the Al map means they we're testing if they can send us a map to OUR EMM so WE get it without RESETTING.That means that they are planning to wipe out all our current maps and only give us W5.So at december 31st DISCONNECT THE COAX!!!!!!!
