Just found out. Sad news. Chuck was one of the better ones. I remember well that night of the 1979 WS when the Pirates badly needed a win, down 3 games to 1 to Baltimore. Chuck's mother had died that morning, but he chose to be there with the team. He made a risky pitching decision to save his best guys for the final two games if they should get that far. Paid off too.
