Cinemax hd ALL HD 9-1-08

Last night while watching Cinemax , they are running new commercials saying
" starting 9-1-08 Cinemax HD will be the only full time 24 hour all TRUE hd channel.
All movies, all shows, series, interviews, everything."

WIll have to see if that holds true. Hopefully it will

Does this mean that any of the older movies they show will all be upconverted to HD or are they going to make sure that all transfers have been received as an HD? It is hard to believe that they will get the soft core porn as HD transfers. I think those will have to be upconverted.

That will be fine if it is Cinemax-East-HD and Cinemax-West-HD flagship channels.

It it means all the Cinemax-HD channels then that will actually be a bad thing, as it means they will no longer be showing great old movies upconverted to HD, like Marx Brothers "Duck Soup" and Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell in color in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes".

And, as mentioned above, it would mean that they will no longer be showing silly funny soft core movies about people from other planets having sex, etc.

Cinemax undoubtedly receives those from the studio as 480 transfers that have been used for years.

I took it to believe only the main cinemax east/west channel. I have a feeling the nonhd/upconverted stuff will just be on the other max's. We will still have the alien sex movies, they will just probably be on the other max's
